RSC Anderlecht face a difficult away tie in the domestic cup. The draw for the Croky Cup round of 32 paired the Brussels club with Beerschot on Sunday, with the match at the Kiel scheduled for Saturday 17 October at 18:00.

It is a repeat of a meeting from two seasons ago. Anderlecht won at the Kiel back then with a goal from Simic. The Antwerp-based club were promoted to the Jupiler Pro League last season and represent a dangerous opponent at this early stage of the cup. The protected status for top-flight clubs, which prevented them from drawing each other, only expires from the round of 16 onwards.

Anderlecht currently sit fifth in the league with thirteen points from seven matches. Their next assignment is an away game against Cercle Brugge, who are seventeenth, on 10 October. That match is listed in the full fixtures schedule.

Other ties

For the other top-tier clubs, the draw was largely favourable. Club Brugge will host Sporting Lokeren, while Union play at home against amateur side KFC Nijlen. KV Kortrijk and Lommel SK were already eliminated in the previous round. The exact kick-off times for all sixteen ties will be announced on Wednesday.

The Croky Cup final will be held at the end of this season. Anderlecht will first focus on the league, where the standings show they are six points behind leaders Union. The squad for the cup match can be checked via the squad overview. The away trip to Beerschot on 17 October is the next cup hurdle.
