Anderlecht welcomes Tawfik Bentayeb

RSC Anderlecht has signed 24-year-old Moroccan striker Tawfik Bentayeb from Union Touarga Sportif. Bentayeb signs a four-season contract, making him a permanent fixture in the purple-white attack from the upcoming season.

Training and club career

Bentayeb grew up in the Mohammed VI Football Academy in Morocco, where he completed his foundational training. After the academy, he moved to Union Touarga Sportif. His first major opportunity came during a successful loan spell at Rodez, where he began to make a name for himself as a forward.

Success at Troyes

In the 2023/24 season Bentayeb confirmed himself at the French club ESTAC Troyes. With 20 goals in 31 matches he played a key role in Troyes’ promotion to Ligue 1, making his goal-scoring and play-making abilities highly visible.

International experience

Bentayeb made his debut for the Moroccan national team in May of this year. He immediately scored a goal and provided two assists, an impressive start to his international career. He has played almost all youth selections for Morocco, giving him broad experience.

Welcome to Anderlecht

With Bentayeb’s arrival, Anderlecht gains extra offensive firepower. The club hopes he can bring his goal-scoring and creativity to strengthen the attack and lead the club to new successes.
