New striker

RSC Anderlecht announced on Friday the arrival of Moroccan striker Tawfik Bentayeb. Bentayeb is joining from Union Touarga Sportif in his home country and signs a four-season contract with the Belgian record champions.

Career and achievements

Bentayeb received his training at the Mohammed VI Football Academy in Morocco. He then moved into club football with Union Touarga Sportif. Last season he was loaned to ESTAC Troyes in France’s second division, where he scored 20 goals and provided 3 assists in 31 matches. His goals were instrumental in Troyes’ promotion to Ligue 1.

International experience

Bentayeb has earned one cap for the Moroccan national team. In a friendly against Burundi, which ended 5-0, he entered at half-time and immediately contributed a goal and two assists.

Contract details

Bentayeb’s contract with Anderlecht runs for four seasons. No transfer fee was disclosed in the official announcement.
