RSC Anderlecht played out a draw against KRC Genk last week, while Voetbal International published an extensive profile of youth talent Jayden Onia Seke. The club currently sits 11th in the Jupiler Pro League with six points from four matches and has a goal difference of three scored and five conceded.
A scouting report was released this week on 17-year-old forward Jayden Onia Seke. He is described as one of the biggest talents in Anderlecht's youth academy. The Belgian player, who is 1.78 meters tall and has a market value of two million euros, is considered the youngest professional debutant ever in Belgian football.
This season, Onia Seke is getting the chance to fill the void left by Nathan De Cat. De Cat moved to Hoffenheim for nearly twenty million euros this past summer. The full first-team roster can be found on our squad page.
The top-of-the-table clash between Anderlecht and Genk on the fifth matchday ended in a 0-0 draw. Anderlecht found Genk goalkeeper Lucca Brughmans to be an insurmountable obstacle, while the Limburgers themselves hit the post through striker Durosinmi. The match had a fierce start but lacked enough footballing quality to be considered a true classic.
Newcomer Bentayeb proved dangerous but could not score. Anderlecht has scored only three goals after five league matches, a record only worse than OH Leuven and KV Kortrijk. The current league situation can always be checked on our standings page.
It was analysed this week that both Anderlecht and Genk must be careful not to lose touch with the top of the table. Chief football writer Niels Poissonnier wrote that the teams too often yo-yo up and down. Anderlecht is seven points behind leaders Union Saint-Gilloise.
The club's recent form is inconsistent with a sequence of Win, Loss, Loss, Win. The next opportunity for points is away at KV Mechelen on September 11th. Mechelen is currently in 15th place. The upcoming schedule is listed in our fixtures overview.
The new Pro League matchdays have been released. It shows that Anderlecht will visit Club Brugge on Sunday, November 8th at 1:30 PM. The return fixture at Dudenpark is scheduled for Sunday, December 20th at 6:30 PM. These dates are part of the revised calendar released by the Pro League.
Anderlecht did manage to win against KV Kortrijk in the third match round. The only goal in that match came in the 43rd minute from striker Danylo Sikan. That victory is part of the two wins the club has secured this season.
Anderlecht will have to play the upcoming match against Mechelen without the injured Lucas Hey. His recovery status and that of other players can be followed on the injuries list. The match on September 11th kicks off at 8:45 PM.
