Anderlecht's transfer summer depends on Europa League duel
The double confrontation with PAOK will have a great influence on the last weeks of the transfer period. If Anderlecht qualifies, sport director Antoine Sibierski will get clearer insight into the available budget and can work more efficiently on the last reinforcements.
Currently, Anderlecht has a large squad of 31 players. That extensive selection was deliberately composed to cover the preparation and the first official matches, but within the club, everyone knows that this is not a definitive core. The official team photo will only be taken in September, when the transfer period is over. By then, several players will have left Neerpede.
This summer, already 13 players left the club, and in the coming weeks, more outgoing transfers are expected. Some players may leave, while others may look for more playing time if an interesting opportunity arises.
European income is of great importance
Just like many other Belgian clubs, Anderlecht relies on transfer income to keep the financial balance healthy. The transfer fees of players like Nathan De Cat, Keisuke Goto, and Luis Vazquez are also spread over several years. Therefore, the income from European football is more important than ever.
Duel decides further transfer summer
The double confrontation with PAOK will therefore have a great influence on the last weeks of the transfer period. If Anderlecht qualifies, Sibierski will get clearer insight into the available budget and can work more efficiently on the last reinforcements.
A defeat would, on the other hand, cause new uncertainty and complicate the strategic choices of the club until the end of August. The European double against PAOK can thus be decisive for the rest of Anderlecht's summer.
