Anderlecht loses to Antwerp FC on Hoedt's debut

Anderlecht suffered its fourth league defeat of the season on Sunday. The team of Vincent Kompany lost at home to Antwerp FC.

Anderlecht had a strong first half, but couldn't score. Michel Vlap had a great chance, but his shot went wide of Sinan Bolat's goal.

Antwerp FC was very active in the last days of the summer transfer period and coach László Bölöni gave the new signings Wesley Hoedt, Kevin Mirallas and Steven Defour all a starting spot.

What were the consequences?

Anderlecht faced a tough task, as the experienced and physically strong Antwerp FC is not known for giving away many opportunities. However, a mistake by Bolat helped the home team to equalize 1-1.

Anderlecht was lucky to have goalkeeper Hendrik Van Crombrugge, who prevented the team from conceding more goals. However, Van Crombrugge also had to admit defeat on a shot from the recently substituted Koji Miyoshi: 1-2.
