Anderlecht Signs Senegalese Defender Cheikh Koité from Football Bourg-en-Bresse Péronnas 01

Anderlecht has signed Cheikh Koité, a 22-year-old Senegalese left-back, from French club Football Bourg-en-Bresse Péronnas 01. Koité has signed a two-year contract with the RSCA Futures.

Koité completed his training in Senegal at SC Teranga. In the summer of 2025, he made the move to France, where he quickly established himself at FBBP 01. In his first season in France, Koité played in 30 matches.

After one year with the French club, the defender is now continuing his career with the RSCA Futures. His contract with Anderlecht runs until mid-2028 and also includes an option to extend the partnership with another season.

Why this is important for Anderlecht

This signing is important for Anderlecht because the club needs a new left-back to strengthen the defense. Koité has already gained experience in France and can make a good contribution to the RSCA Futures.

What's next?

Anderlecht will now have to see how Koité adapts to the RSCA Futures. The club will also have to see how Koité develops and if he can make a good contribution to the defense.

Anderlecht is currently 6th in the Jupiler Pro League with 3 points, 1 win and 0 losses from 1 game. The club will now have to see how they finish the rest of the season and if they can qualify for the play-offs.

Anderlecht's next match is on 13 February 2027 against KV Mechelen at home.
