The process around the sale of RSC Anderlecht must restart with a new judge. The Court of Appeal in Brussels has declared a complaint of player agent Christophe Henrotay to be well-founded. According to the court, a part of the money that player agent Henrotay would have received for the sale of the club would have been laundered back to certain sellers, the old Anderlecht board, namely Vanden Stock, Van Holsbeeck and Van Biesbroeck.
What happened?
For the sale of the club, there were 3 candidates in the running: Coucke, Ghelamco boss Paul Gheysens and the Uzbek Alisher Usmanov, a businessman who was also a shareholder of Arsenal.
Commission
Although Usmanov and Gheysens did not buy RSCA, player agent Henrotay nevertheless claimed his commission, because he had failed to bring in the highest bidders and was not satisfied with the sum of around 1 million euros that the shareholders were willing to pay him.
Process already postponed several times
The process had already been scheduled to take place in February, but was then postponed to the end of May. The defense of Christophe Henrotay had then immediately pointed out that the court could not actually handle the file, as long as another judicial investigation was still ongoing.
Anderlecht currently stands 6th in the Jupiler Pro League, with 3 points, 1 win and 0 losses out of 1 game. The next match is at home against KV Mechelen on 13 February 2027.
