Ndiaye gets new perspective at RSC Anderlecht

At RSC Anderlecht, there is still a lot of work to be done in the final transfer period, especially on the outgoing side. The club has already said goodbye to several players and has a number of files that require a solution.

Antoine Sibierski started as sporting director with a thorough reshuffling of the core. The expiring contracts of Yari Verschaeren, Thorgan Hazard, Joachim Imbrechts, and Mats Rits were not extended. Also, the loan periods of Moussa Diarra, Mihajlo Ilic, Mathys Angély, and Coba Da Costa were not renewed.

In addition, Paars-Wit sold Nathan De Cat, Keisuke Goto, and Luis Vazquez. For Ibrahim Kanate and Annas Tajaouart, a loan formula was sought. However, the list of departing players can still be longer: for Mario Stroeykens, Anderlecht is still looking for a way out, while Majeed Ashimeru, Thomas Foket, and Alexis Flips are no longer in the plans. César Huerta and Cedric Hatenboer are also allowed to leave.

In that extensive dossier, Ndiaye seemed to be a logical outgoing transfer for a long time. The Senegalese left-back had periods of strong performances at Anderlecht, but also alternated with weaker moments. Therefore, he moved to Schalke 04 on loan in January.

Schalke 04 seems no solution for Ndiaye

In Germany, things went better for Ndiaye. He helped Schalke 04 to promotion to the Bundesliga, which made Anderlecht initially plan to use his momentum for a definitive sale. That option seems less likely now.

Transferwatcher Sacha Tavolieri reports that the new sporting management of Anderlecht wants to keep Ndiaye in the selection. The club management hopes that the left-back will also stay on board after the transfer period is closed.

A return to Schalke 04 seems financially not feasible. The German club may show renewed interest, but a concrete transfer is not in sight. As a result, Ndiaye shifts from a player who could leave to a player whom Anderlecht sees as a valuable option.

For Ndiaye, that is a clear turnaround in one summer. Anderlecht still has to handle several outgoing files, but wants to keep the left-back according to Tavolieri, just out of the departure carousel.
