Anderlecht won 1-0 against KV Kortrijk at Lotto Park on Sunday, with Danylo Sikan scoring the only goal just before halftime. The Belgian striker netted his first Jupiler Pro League goal after previously finding the net five times in European qualification matches against Hammarby, PAOK Saloniki and Kairat Almaty.
Anderlecht controlled large parts of the match but had to work hard to break down a stubborn Kortrijk defence. The goal came from a cross by Podgoreanu, which led to a shot by Koyalipou that struck the post in the second half, preventing an equaliser. Despite the pressure, Anderlecht held on to extend their unbeaten home run at Lotto Park to five matches this season.
The victory improved Anderlecht’s league standing to 10th in the Jupiler Pro League with 6 points from 4 games (2W-0D-2L), following a recent form of WLLW. They remain 6 points behind leaders Charleroi and have scored 3 goals while conceding 5 this season. Lucas Hey is currently sidelined, adding to the squad challenges ahead of their next fixture.
Kalonji came on to replace Kana, while Bentayeb made his home debut at Lotto Park, coming on for Cvetkovic. Ruyssen and Kohon each received yellow cards from referee Bert Put for dangerous play. Coosemans recovered the ball after a challenge involving Philips and Pétrot in the box, with no penalty awarded. Roche and Philips came on for Dejaegere and Mehssatou, and Antman had a shot blocked by Murray-Campbell, resulting in a corner.
Anderlecht will now prepare for their next home game against Racing Genk on 2026-09-06.
