Keisuke Goto has secured his transfer to the German Bundesliga. The 21-year-old striker, who was loaned to Sint-Truiden by Anderlecht last season, will not return to Brussels. Goto chooses Freiburg, which was still in the Europa League final last month. In December 2024, a definitive transfer to Anderlecht's first team followed. Last season, the Japanese international was loaned to STVV, where he scored 13 times and provided 8 assists. He finished with the Limburgers in a historic third place and occasionally weighed heavily against the red and white. In Brussels, Goto said he was often met with muchos and doubts. Now Goto chooses an adventure with SC Freiburg, which lost the Europa League final last month to Aston Villa with 0-3. Goto has already reacted in a statement on the German club's website. "SC Freiburg had a lot of interest in me a few months ago", the Japanese said. "I had the feeling from the start that the management really wanted me. That was one of the main reasons why I chose Freiburg. For me, it's a big club and I'm looking forward to the upcoming season." For how long the Japanese will bind to Freiburg and how much the transfer fee is, is not yet known. Earlier, Rihito Yamamoto, a player from STVV, also joined Freiburg.
