Anderlecht had a difficult start to the preparation for the new season. Due to the high temperatures and several injuries, including those of Ilay Camara and Lucas Hey, coach Vitor Bruno asked to cancel the first friendly match.

How about Beerschot?

Beerschot had originally planned a match against OHL, but it was cancelled. The Antwerp club sees the match against Anderlecht as a good replacement. Coach Mohamed Messoudi of Beerschot calls it a 'good solution' to play against Anderlecht.
