Anderlecht rejected offers from Twente and Utrecht for Cedric Hatenboer's services. The midfielder returns to the Belgian club. According to Het Nieuwsblad, Telstar will not exercise the purchase option included in the rental agreement. Hatenboer was purchased by Anderlecht in January 2025 for a fee of around two million euros from Excelsior. After completing the season on loan at the Dutch club, he returned to Brussels. However, this period was not successful. In half a year, the midfielder played no minutes in the first team. Now it seems that Hatenboer is going for a new chance at Anderlecht. This has everything to do with the new situation at the club. Former coach Besnik Hasi has left and in Antoine Sibierski, paars-wit found a new sports director. It is still unclear who will be the head coach of Anderlecht next season, but Hatenboer seems to be going for a new chance and is disappointing Twente and Utrecht, with new coach Anthony Correia.
